Olivia du Vergier is an artist filmmaker.Born in Naarm/Melbourne (1995), she is based in Hastings, UK.
Working across moving image, photography, drawing and writing, her practice examines the instability of communication, exploring moments of misunderstanding as sites where meaning is actively reshaped. She is interested in situations where language falters - mistaken messages, misheard conversations, disrupted gestures. By foregrounding these moments, her work asks what new relationships and narratives can emerge when communication breaks down.
Du Vergier is a 2025-2026 artist-in-residence with Flatland Projects and De La Warr Pavillion.
