Olivia du Vergier is an artist-filmmaker based in Hastings, UK.
My work is rooted in themes of language, movement and memory. I am fascinated by the limitations of human communication, particularly the ways in which we attempt to connect with one another yet often fall short of doing so. Whether through spoken language, gestures, or silence, our expressions are constantly subject to misinterpretation, distortion, and gaps in understanding. Through the moving image, I try to explore these moments of disconnection.
Du Vergier's works have been shown widely in London, Berlin and Montreal.
She is a 2025-2026 artist-in-residence with Flatland Projects and De La Warr Pavillion.
